Shh Baby Door Sign

I made this little “Baby Sleeping” door sign for my blogger friend Darcy of the Ruffled Stitch to celebrate her baby that is coming very soon 🙂  It cost about $5 to make and took less than an hour.  I got everything at Michael’s Craft Store and will be making this again for sure!
Here are all of my supplies.  Those wooden buttons are the best and Darcy loves bikes so it was perfect for her.
Use painter’s tape to create stripes.  Make sure to press it down well on the sides of the frame too.  I used Scotch Blue Tape for this project and it worked great.
I used a bright yellow paint and I watered it down just a tiny bit to make it more transparent.  The paint will bleed a little under the tape if you add water because the wood will soak up the paint more but I thought it looked cute that way.
Let the paint dry and then peel off the tape.
I used wooden scrapbook stickers so I didn’t even have to get the hot glue gun out.  Just pick a few and stick them on.
For the writing, I typed “Shh Baby Sleeping” into PicMonkey with my favorite font and then copied it to some paper using a Gold Sharpie.

I stapled a few ribbons to the back so that it could hang anywhere.  Make sure the staples don’t go all the way through.  I just barely pushed so that they only went in about half way.

All done.  I hope this cute sign will keep people from waking up her precious baby from her naps 🙂
