When you ask a teenager what they want for their birthdays what’s the first thing they say? Money!
But handing over a wad of cash isn’t a very fun or special gift. Let me show you how to make your teen gift giving a little more exciting by creating a Box o’ Money!
To make a Box o’ Money gift for your favorite teenager you will need:
- an empty tissue box {the smaller cubes work best}
- colorful wrapping paper
- scrapbooking birthday stickers
- cardstock
- tape and scissors
- MONEY!
Start with a tissue box. Grab one from the recycling bin or empty one by carefully opening one side, removing tissues, and closing the side back up with tape.
Wrap the box like a present. Make sure to wrap around the top hole, leaving it open. This is where the money will go. Use colorful scrapbook stickers decorate the outside.
Next you will need to make a triangular shaped card from cardstock. I placed colorful birthday themed scrapbooking stickers on the card. This will sit on the top of the box.
Decide on how much money you are going to give as a gift then tape the money together using invisible tape. Tape the money end to end, to make a long strip and accordion fold the money.
Tape one end of the money strip to the bottom of the triangular card.
Carefully stuff the money into the of the box.
The best part of giving a Box o’ Money is when your teen pulls on the card, a flow of money comes out of the top of the box! How fun is that?!
