Candy Christmas Ornament DIY Advent Calendar Craft Idea for Kids: Child at Heart Blog

Every kid counts down to Christmas pretty much all year long and I love the idea of Advent Calendars so I came up with this fun Candy Ornament Advent Calendar for kids.  I partnered with Oriental Trading and love these clear ornaments for this craft.  This is a fun way to let your kids eat some treats everyday without downing a whole bag of chocolate in two days.  🙂

Here are the supplies you need:

DIY Clear Christmas Ornaments

your child’s favorite small candy or other treats

a Sharpie paint pen in any color you choose

embroidery floss

washi tape  (this is similar to what I used)

Cole filled all of the 25 ornaments with two or three pieces of candy.  He had a lot of fun picking out the combinations and talking about how he was going to eat it and share with me…I’m really raising that boy right to be willing to share chocolate with his mommy!  🙂

Try to ignore my terrible nails and focus on the Sharpie paint pen.  This is what I used and it went on great and dried pretty fast.  I used the oil based pen.  They have about 4 or 5 colors to choose from too.

I wrote the numbers 1-24 and wrote the word Christmas on the last one.
