I recently went with my mom and the babies to Santa Fe to shop and we went into some thrift stores while we were there. I got so many fun goodies including some baskets for my wall and this copper bowl. I turned it into a simple hanging planter and I love how it turned out.
Ok here is the bowl. I polished it up with ketchup (yes that’s a thing) and then my husband drilled three holes in the edges and one in the bottom for drainage. I added a paper towel in the bottom so when you water it, the soil won’t come out of the drainage hole.
Next, I tried just tying white rope to it and I could NEVER get it level. Next I tried just hanging it with a macrame hanger without using the holes and this happened.
SO I completely started over 🙂 and then I tied a new jute macrame hanger (how-to here) and fed the jute through the holes to make it stay put. All done and I love the results! Most of the jute did not go through the holes but I would recommend having three or four pieces go through a hole so that it doesn’t slip out when you water it.
