Daddy's Cowboy Boots Photo Gift Idea: Child at Heart

A few months ago I set up a little photo shoot (with the help of my mom) and we made such a special gift for my husband.  We took his boots and State Trooper cowboy hat and took about a 1,000 pictures of my son in his cowboy best.  I edited them on PicMonkey Royale and framed them in a large frame with 3 openings.  If you have a daughter, I think it would probably be even cuter 🙂  This hangs in his office now and he loves it 🙂
How I took and edited the pictures:All you need is a white sheet or curtain.  We hung it up against the wall and made sure we were close to the window to get natural light.  He was standing on the curtain too so that I didn’t have anything else in the background.  Don’t use your flash and take lots of pictures because if you are taking pictures of a toddler, most of them won’t turn out super great.  Test the lighting and background on a teddy bear first so that you are ready when your child is ready!  If you aren’t comfortable taking the pictures, go to a studio or hire someone…just don’t forget the boots!

I also found this poem on Pinterest (couldn’t find the source) and I added it to a picture of my husband’s boots using PicMonkey for the card we gave him.   When I edited the pictures on PicMonkey, I used the Intrepid setting and I also used the Curves tool to brighten them up a bit.  These are both Royale settings but it’s SO worth it.  I use the Curves tool every day!

Here is how my pictures turned out:

Do you do little photo shoots with your kids?  What props do you use?
