I made my Mama Bear t-shirt the other day and since I’m wearing it for Halloween, I needed some great little bear ears to go with it! These were very easy to make but be warned, cutting the black fur made it look like we shaved a bear on my bedroom carpet! I might do this on the table next time! 🙂
First I got my small black headband and drew the ears the size I would want for my template. I attached a template with this tutorial if you just want to use mine.
Bear Ear Template: Click Here to Print the Template for Four Ears…print on standard sized cardstock so the ears will stand up straight and be the right size!
Then I cut out four ear pieces and two very small rectangle pieces to attach the ears on each side. I attached the ears to the rectangle with hot glue and then I set them aside.
I bought this black craft fur from Hobby Lobby and it was in the same aisle where all of the craft pipe cleaners are. This makes a big mess so I would recommend doing this over the trash can or at least on the table…not on the carpet like me. 🙂
I hot glued the four pieces to the white cardstock…should have used black cardstock because I had to get a Sharpie marker and color on a few white spots. Then I folded each set of ears in half and hot glued them to the headband.
Next, I cut a long strip to cover the tops of each ear. Just hot glue this on and you can’t see any of the cardstock.
I clipped a little gold bow in mine for Halloween but if you are making these for a boy, leave that out. These would make a fun addition to a bear costume or just a fun addition to a dress up box! I love them with my MAMA bear shirt I made and can’t wait for Halloween!
Cole took this picture of me at the end of our little photo shoot…I already see potential! 🙂
While we were in the store, Cole decided he needed red bear ears so I bought those GIANT pipe cleaners and just hot glued them to another head band. He loves them! (Cole’s shirt is from Emmi and Dean.)

Ahhh the cuteness! And props to Cole for being a great photographer!
I know he loves taking pictures but I need to buy him a WAY less expensive camera to play with! 🙂
Aww, what an adorable idea!! I loved the pictures of you and your son, too. So sweet. <3
Thanks Krystal! Yeah I love that picture too…might have to do that one again without bear ears on! 🙂
