DIY Flannel Heart No-Sew Baseball Hat: the Child at Heart blog

I had some flannel left over from another project and when I saw all of these $2 baseball caps from Walmart in all these great colors, I had an idea!  🙂  I love baseball caps because honestly I rarely do my hair during the week and a baseball cap makes you look cute at the school pick up line without any effort.  Here’s the how-to for this simple no-sew flannel heart baseball cap!

Supplies:

Blank Baseball Cap (this one was from Walmart for $2 and they had tons of colors)

Heat N Bond Iron On Adhesive UltraBond

Flannel Scraps

Scissors

Iron

Cut a small scrap of flannel fabric and follow the Heat N Bond instructions about ironing the adhesive to the back of your fabric.  Make sure to turn off the steam setting on your iron.  Don’t iron too long or it won’t stick later.

Once the adhesive is on the back of your fabric, cut out your shape.  I did a heart but any simple shape will work.

Place your shape on the hat, keeping the hat as flat as you can.  Follow the instructions for the iron on adhesive but I set the iron on the heart for about 6-8 seconds.  Don’t do too long when ironing or it won’t work right.  Press down firmly and then check to make sure all of the edges adhered to the hat.

All done!  I can’t wait to wear this with my sweaters and my scarves…I LOVE it!  🙂

My photographer (my husband) was out of town so I had to take my own pictures.  🙂
