When I was a teacher me and my teacher friend (Shout out to Mrs. Loya!) LOVED the Leaf Man
book by Lois Elhert. We would read it every fall and make little “leaf men” with paper leaves with our kindergarten classes.
Here is a link to the book
if you want to read it to your child and make your very own “Leaf Man.”
I went on a “leaf walk” with my son the other day (a.k.a. running into other people’s yards with pretty leaves and hoping they aren’t watching from their windows) and got some really pretty leaves to make our very own.
Here’s how we brought our Leaf Man to life:
Get some Clear Matte Transparent Con-Tact paper and position your leaf man on the sticky paper.
Once we positioned the leaves to make the leaf man’s body, I cut a leaf to make the mouth and eyes.
Press the leaves down well and then lay another piece of Con-Tact paper on top to seal it together. Trim around the edges hang it in the window for a fun fall decoration that your kid’s will love.
I helped him with the first one and then he did this one all by himself. You have to WANT to see it but it’s there 🙂
He’s very happy to be a part of our family 🙂
What are your fall traditions with your family?

I love this idea! Your son is so cute and I love that you used an outside activity and tied it into an indoor activity.
Thanks I think so too 🙂 Yeah you know with boys the outside part is the best part!
Such a fun activity for little ones! Love that book too!
