My sweet Aunt Martha just turned 60 and we celebrated with a simple but really pretty Shabby Chic Party. I wanted to share all of the fun, inexpensive details that made this party so special. It is perfect for any fall gathering and you could even steal some of these ideas for Thanksgiving!
All of the flowers were from United Supermarket and they were sooo pretty! We used my mother-in-law’s mason jars for the centerpieces and she just tied on different ribbons, jute, and some burlap roses with a burlap runner.
My sister-in-law made these little utensil holders with a lunch bag and some ribbon! Easy cheesy 🙂
This little frame greeted all of the guest at the door. It says, If you would please be a dear, and sign your name, so Martha knows you were here! She printed it on burlap paper and I’m pretty sure she made it on PicMonkey, my favorite editing site! (I would suggest the Royale because it has SO many options)
For the guest page, we bought a tiny piece of lace and taped it to an ivory piece of card stock for a cute sign-in sheet she can keep 🙂
I did this same “60 Reasons” gift for my father-in-law’s birthday a few years ago but we wanted to do it again for Martha. I cut small pieces of scrapbook paper and everyone wrote reasons they love her and we put it in this mason jar for her to keep.
Martha wanted BBQ sandwiches on my Mom’s Famous Tomato Rolls so that’s what she got! They were so yummy and these rolls are a staple at my family’s Thanksgiving table for a reason 🙂
My sis-in-law made little mason jars full of ice cream for all of the guests and there were fun toppings to go with them.
I made this little banner with some lunch bags, black card stock that I cut out with my Cricut Expression 2
, and some silk mums. I took the mums apart and then layered them on top of each other with a button in the center. I wrote “We Love Martha” with chalk and then I made a little tissue banner for underneath it. It was really cute but super hard to get a good picture of 🙂
I thought this was really funny and had to write it somewhere 🙂
Happy Birthday Martha! We love you 🙂
I hope you can use some of these ideas for your fall gatherings or Thanksgiving!
How fun! Looks like it was a great party and so cute! I’ll have to remember this one to copy 🙂
Yeah it was simple but really pretty 🙂
You outdid yourself! Love all of the personal touches and the ice cream in the mason jars – so fun. Your sweet family really blessed Martha. I love to see close families.
I know my sister in law did that…a bit of prep work but then at the party no one is scooping 🙂 Yeah we’re pretty close and have a good time together
