Our next Pretty Tough Jacket recipient is Callie Colwick. I started following Callie on Instagram sometime in 2020. I thought she had such an inspirational story of bravery and strength and loved all of her creative “mommy” ideas to make life extra special. I had no idea that just a few months later my daughter would be in a pink wheelchair too.

I chose Callie for the Pretty Tough Jacket because she shows all of us that you can use your trials to encourage and inspire no matter what happens in life. Callie is living out 2 Corinthians 1:3-4: Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. Callie has used her sepsis, amputations, and loss of a child to show us that God will give you strength through His joy and hope.

Here is Callie’s story:

Please go follow Callie on Instagram to learn more about her family, her journey of healing, and their current adoption process.

Below are the photos that were taken with her custom pink Pretty Tough Jacket I painted for her in her hometown of McKinney, Texas. She LOVES pink and I’m so glad that she allowed me to share her beauty with ya’ll!
