I have been writing this blog for several years now and until August of 2013 I was just writing for family and close friends. Over the past 6 months or so I have expanded my audience and wish that some of my older posts were like my posts I have written recently.
I decided to take some of my older posts that I really like and get them ready for Pinterest because this is where 90% of my traffic comes from. These are super simple and I will update on how many Pins this post gets as a result of my efforts. Here are some screen shots describing how I transformed one oldie but goodie into a “Pin” worthy post.

You can pin something more than one time. I pinned this to an Easter, School, and Toddler Educational Activities board as well as to my blog’s Pinterest board. |

I’m just now learning the ‘ins and outs’ of Pinterest and I have a new blog, so this is helpful information. Thank you.
Hey no problem…Pinterest will probably drive most of your traffic so it’s VERY important…but also remember to have fun with it. Pin what you like and like minded crafters will follow 🙂

I never thought about that. Going to work on a few this weekend. Great tip!
Thank you! These little tips can make a big difference in pageviews 🙂
I loved these two suggestions: #1 – add your old content (rotate) to the sidebar to promote to new readers and #2 create more than 1 pinnable image to appeal to different readers.
Thanks for sharing,

Thanks! The two pinnable images really can reach a wider audience!
I’ve been doing a little bit to create more Pinterest-friendly images. My one concern is for images that have already been pinned. In some cases, I would like to eliminate the original pin-able image and replace it with a better one. Do you have any idea if by doing that I would be creating broken links?
Thanks for some great tips!!
All the best for an extraordinary day!
I would never get rid of a pin that has lots of repins…even if it makes you want to cringe! My most popular pin makes my eyes hurt but I created new ones and those had success too. I have removed “ugly” images from my posts before and replaced them with better ones but as far as Pinterest goes…create new pins and leave the old ones in circulation! They are bringing you traffic even if you don’t like them anymore 🙂
Thanks for sharing this. I try to create a pin worthy image (most of the time) in each post, but haven’t thought about the old ones where I never did that. I have a lot of work to do!
Yeah just take a few posts a week and do your most popular posts first since those are the ones that will catch on in Pinterest first.
